What Types of Activities and Programs Qualify for APS Points?
If you’re trying to collect points, you’ll want to make sure you focus on activities and programs that are eligible for Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) points. This can include things like art classes, sports teams, language classes, tutor programs, and more.
You can also get APS points for participating in the ACT or SAT test prep program as well as extracurricular activities such as debate teams or science fairs. You may also be able to get points for college coursework completed while still in high school.
It’s important to remember that the activities have to have a minimum length of 20 days or credit hours for academic courses so keep this in mind when signing up for any extracurricular courses. Additionally, it’s best to make sure the activity is approved by your school counsellor in order for it to qualify towards your APS point total.
